Okay so here’s the deal.  You don’t quite fit in with the High School kids and you definitely don’t belong with the grade school kids – that’s why they call you “TWEENS”.  It’s okay that you don’t fit into either of groups, because I know a place where you will fit in perfectly – FIREPROOF!

This group is only for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from all over the Groton-New London area (yeah it’s cool for Ledyard, Stonington, Mystic, Gales Ferry, Montville, and any other place that I happen to miss) to learn and worship our way.  As we change physically, mentally, and spiritually, we are focusing on discovering for ourselves “Who God is?”  “What do I mean to God?”  “What does God mean to me?”  “How do I serve God?”  “Can I really talk about Jesus at school with my friends and they won’t think I am geek?”

And FIREPROOF is not just about sitting in a classroom and talking – BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.  We are very much involved in the service of the church with opportunities to learn about children’s ministries, being an usher, running the sound board and many other activities.  When we do get together there is always time for a game or two, open and honest discussion where you don’t have to be afraid of not fitting in, and usually something good to eat!  As much fun as we have had, there is still something missing…YOU!  Sunday mornings during service while your Mom and Dad are learning their way, come learn your way.  We can’t wait to see you!
