Why Missions?

Seaport Community Church is committed to missions.  Revelation 7:9 says, "After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb."  The imagery is that of people from every people group worshipping our God.

We want to do our part to reach out to those who have not heard the Gospel and give them an opportunity to worship our God.  We currently support twenty five missionaries as well as CareNet and Zion Bible College.

Through our missionary support, short term missions trips, and educational opportunites such as Perspectives on the World Christian Movement, we offer our church family ways to be involved in missions at many different levels.

Elizabeth "Betty" Stam once said:

"Nobody can force a single soul. . . to turn to Christ.  All that [we]. . . .can do, is to lift up Christ before the world, bring him into dingy corners and dark places of the earth where he is unknown, introduce him to strangers, talk about him to everyone, and live so closely with and in him that others may see that there really is such a person as Jesus."

Please explore the following pages to learn how you can help lift Christ up in your home and in your world.
