This is a promise from God. It’s a promise those living under unjust governments can remember to help them suffer well. Justice is always done in this world or the next because God has promised it. We go the extra mile and pay the unjust tax knowing God’s hand is still stretched out.
In communion we proclaim Lord Jesus’ death. We remember His sacrifice that was necessary to cleanse us of our sins. We remember the covenant that God made with His people to draw near to them and give us a new heart. A heart that is grateful for His ways. In communion we humble ourselves before the cross in full view of the God’s grace to do all this to save us. To subject His only Son to His full wrath, so that we wouldn’t have to face it. Though we were once sinners and enemies of God, Christ died that we would be forgiven and have peace with our creator into eternity.
What does it look like practically to love your neighbor as yourself?

Because, whenever you look at another person with more than a casual interest in their physical attributes, whenever you allow desire to dictate how you view another person, whenever you desire more time with or are a little more flirtatious with someone other than with your spouse, you’re already over the line.
If you walk in integrity, you don’t over promise or under deliver. The more your word proves to be true the more it’s worth.
We are called to love how Jesus loved, to go where Jesus went, to do what Jesus did, to teach what Jesus taught and he expects us to hang out with who Jesus hung out with.
What happens if we repent? We align ourselves with God’s plan to bless our lives. We recalibrate and get on track to the destination God has for us.
